Description

Bennett et al. note an increasing prevalence of Parkinsonian signs in 3,622 individuals over the age of 65. These signs included bradykinesia (which included slow finger taps), gait disturbance, rigidity of the extremities, and tremor. The most prevalent changes were slow finger taps, which increased from 23% in the 65-74 year old group to 62% in the 85+ group, and reduced arm swing, which increased from 24% in the 65-74 year old group to 64% in the 85+ group.
