Description

Exploratory behavior is decreased with age as evidenced by decreased area explored and decreased rearing (standing up on hind legs) in the open field arena test, and decreased initial locomotion using an ActiMot detection apparatus. Measuring locomotion over 90 minutes, the investigators found that the difference in locomotion became insignificant after ~45 min as the mice became used to their surroundings.
