Blood 70 kilodalton heat shock (HSP70) level was significant higher in thirty-seven elderly subjects (median age, 87, range 70-95 years; minimum: 0.0 pg\mL, median: 36.2 pg\mL, maximum: 166 pg\mL) than in 22 young subjects (median age, 26, range 21-37 years; minimum: 0.0 pg\mL, median: 16.8 pg\mL, maximum: 47.0 pg\mL).
