Description

Akervall et al. (1990) found that the threshold for perception of rectal filling (that is, the lowest anal pressure that caused a sensation of rectal fullness) increases with age in both men and women from an average pressure of 9cm of water (9cm H2O) to 21cm H2O in women and from 11cm H2O to 14 cm H2O in men.
